4 Summer Beverages for 2022

Summer’s here, and you know what that means; it’s time to stay hydrated with our favourite summer beverages!

Here are our top summer drinks for 2022.

Seasonal Slushes

One of the most refreshing summer beverages involves seasonal fruits. Watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, you name it! Pick your favourite fruits and combine them for a delicious summer drink.

Here’s an easy recipe: slice some watermelon and remove the skin and seeds. Add the sliced fruit to a blender and throw in your choice of berries. Add some lemon zest, mint leaves, sugar, water, and ice cubes, and blend until you get a slush-like texture. You can replace the ingredients with other fruits or seasonings of your liking as well.

We can’t talk about summer drinks and not mention lemonade! The simplest version involves lemon juice, sugar, and water.

If you want to take your drink to another level, consider adding some mint leaves, salt, and black pepper to give it an extra kick.

Iced Latte

If you’re missing your daily dose of caffeine but can’t fathom the idea of having a hot beverage in this weather, we’ve got the perfect coffee fix for you. Ditch your standard coffee recipe and opt for a refreshing iced latte instead. It’s super simple to make and requires just a couple of minutes.

Add a shot of freshly brewed coffee to a glass. Add some sugar and a dash of cocoa powder to the coffee and mix. Now pour in chilled milk and watch the coffee mix blend into the liquid. Once you’ve filled your glass, add a handful of ice cubes and give the drink a stir. For added elegance, you can dust some cinnamon powder on top to make your drink look fancier.

Peach Iced Tea

You can also get your caffeine fix through a refreshing glass of peach iced tea. Don’t let the “peach” part of the recipe intimidate you; the drink can be prepared using the simplest ingredients.

Start by chopping up two peaches. Add these to a boiling mixture of sugar and water and let them cook until they’ve softened. Once cooked, mash the peaches and let the mixture cool. Your peach syrup is ready.

Infuse teabags into a pot of boiling water to brew the tea. Let this cool as well. To prepare the drink, pour the brewed tea into a jug and add the peach syrup to it. Stir well and adjust for sweetness. Add lots of ice cubes, and you’re done!
